Review: Solutions Vibes Power Cleanser from Avon

A few months ago I picked up the Solutions Vibes Power Cleanser from Avon. To be honest I'd been looking at purchasing the Clarisonic Mia but was put off buy the hefty price tag, so this seemed like a great, cheaper alternative.

My first impression of this cleanser was that it looked like my dads shaving stick! But in a good way, as it fits neatly into my hand when I'm having a wash. The Vibes Power Cleanser is extremely easy to use and you can really feel it cleansing deep down when you wash.

The device runs on one AAA battery and it comes with one pack of 14 cleansing pads to get you started. To start with I thought this was generous ... but I soon realised I was wrong.

A replacement pad is needed every time you use the Vibes cleanser, which in my opinion isn't great. I like to cleanse my face 3 times a day: Once in a morning, then twice at night ... once to remove makeup and a second to cleanse my face. This wouldn't be a problem, except the replacement pads cost £5.00 per tub, and I'd need 2 tubs per week. Eek!

I love the smell of this cleanser though. It gives quite a good lather (better than I actually managed to picture) and since I've been using this my skin has looked and felt a lot better than it used to. I am just so disappointed at how much the replacement pads cost. It just isn't good value money at all when you consider that regular cleansers can cost as little as £3 - £4 and for that you'd get a couple of weeks worth of washes.

Because of the cost of the replacement pads I have stopped using this on a daily basis and now use a range of products in my daily skincare routine instead. If you missed my post on this, or would like a recap, you can click here to have a peek.

I do like the general idea of this though and am now saving up for the Clarisonic Mia, which I've heard fabulous things about. But unless Avon come up with a cheaper way to make this suitable for daily use I definitely won't be recommending it.

You can purchase this power cleanser from the Avon website and it costs £15.00

I am going to award the Solutions Vibes Power Cleanser from Avon 2/5

    1. I love the product itself but I've spent so much money on the replacement pads already that I feel I should have just saved for the Clarisonic Mia (or Mia 2) in the first place! Glad it's not just me who found this problem!x

  2. Sounds like a great product, such a shame about how much the pads cost though. I was actually looking into the Clarisonic a while ago too, but then came across the Rio Sonicleanse which is alot cheaper. I'm now using it and really like it so far :) x

    1. It is. It actually deserves more than 2 stars but I just couldn't give more based on how much it costs to keep it running! I haven't heard of the Rio Sonicleanse ... I'll have to look into that one :) xx

  3. I just got this and on the box it says use three times a week. Maybe this has been added since it first launched?

    1. It did say that when I started using it but I thought it would be suitable for everyday use. Unfortunately I was wrong lol
